State Lakes 1 mile west of Fremont on Military Avenue One of eastern Nebraska’s most popular recreation areas, Fremont has about 40 land acres and nearly 300 water acres in 20 sandpit lakes. Camping, boating, fishing, swimming and wildlife all await just outside of Fremont. More than 660 acres of lakes, camping areas and trails are the perfect place to spend an afternoon or for a weekend get-away. A valid Nebraska State Park Entry Permit is required for all motor vehicles entering the park. Permits are available wherever hunting and fishing permits are sold or at the park entrances.
